FR clothing should come with instructions for cleaning and it is important to read and understand the laundering instructions. FR fabrics can either be laundered or dry cleaned as recommended by the manufacturer. Normal detergents can be used except for tallow soap. Fabric softeners should not be used as they may mask the flame resistant properties of the garments or become a fuel source additive depending on the composition of the product. Use of chlorine bleach is not advised for most FR fabrics as it can depreciate the fabric and the FR properties.
