Modacrylic cotton antistatic fabric

Modacrylic/cotton antistatic fabric is mainly composed of 55% modacrylic 43% cotton and 2% antistatic fiber (sometimes with 60% modacrylic 38% cotton 2% antistatic fiber). This kind of fabric has both advantages of modacrylic and cotton and meanwhile have antistatic property.

Modacrylic is a synthetic copolymer,it is inherently flame resistant.Although it burns when directly exposed to flame, it doesn't melt or drip and is self-extinguishing when the flame is removed.Modacrylic is widely used in high performance protective clothing,such as firefighting turnout gear, because flame resistance is combined with other desirable textile properties such as durability and good hand feel. Modacrylics are soft, strong,resilient and dimensionally stable. They can be easily dyed, show good press and shape retention and are quick to dry. They have outstanding resistantce to chemicals and solvents,are not attacked by moths or mildew,and are nonallergenic.

Cotton is a natural fiber.It is air permeable,moisture absorped,fast drying,soft and good at luster.

So this kind of fabric combines good features of both modacrylic and cotton.The fabric is permanent flame retardant,soft and resilient,shaggy and feels like wool,and has good heat retention property. Now it's been widely used as FR workwear in all kinds of industries.
